Use it with the AI tools you already have

Codelux AI does not replace your AI: it gives it a memory of the project and lets several AI tools work on the same project together. Here is what works with each one, and how well.

Claude Code

Full support

The plugin connects Claude Code to Codelux AI and makes the important parts automatic.

What works

  • The project memory is loaded by itself when a session starts
  • Relevant decisions and facts are added to your requests when they match
  • Its edits are guarded: another agent cannot write the same file at the same time
  • It is reminded to save what it did before the session ends
  • Usage and cost per session, read on your computer
  • Commands to see the status, recall recent work or save a checkpoint

Good to know

  • The cache state shown at session start is a prediction from what Claude Code reports, not a measurement
Set up Claude Code

Codex

Experimental

A ready-made configuration for Codex gives it the same automatic steps as Claude Code.

What works

  • Project memory at session start and with your requests
  • Its edits guarded against other agents
  • All Codelux AI tools: memory, notes, history, messages between agents
  • Reads the Codelux AI section of your project's AGENTS.md file

Good to know

  • Some details of Codex's configuration are not yet confirmed by its documentation: if one does not match, that step does nothing, it never blocks you
Set up Codex

Gemini CLI

Experimental

A ready-made configuration for Gemini CLI, to merge into its settings.

What works

  • Project memory with your requests
  • Its edits guarded against other agents
  • All Codelux AI tools: memory, notes, history, messages between agents

Good to know

  • Gemini reads GEMINI.md rather than AGENTS.md: point it at AGENTS.md, or copy the section
  • Whether the memory is also loaded at session start, and some other details, are not yet confirmed
Set up Gemini CLI

Cursor

Connected

Cursor's agent connects to Codelux AI with one line of configuration.

What works

  • Reads and saves the project memory when it uses the Codelux AI tools
  • Notes, history and messages shared with your other agents
  • Edits made through Codelux AI are guarded against other agents

Good to know

  • Nothing is automatic: the agent uses the tools when it needs them, or when you ask
  • Its own built-in edits are not guarded; ask it to edit through Codelux AI when other agents are working
Set up Cursor

VS Code

Connected

For the agent in VS Code's chat, with one file in your workspace.

What works

  • The same tools as Cursor: memory, notes, history, guarded edits, messages

Good to know

  • Nothing is automatic
  • Not tested by us beyond the connection
Set up VS Code

Windsurf

Connected

One entry in Windsurf's configuration file.

What works

  • The same tools as Cursor: memory, notes, history, guarded edits, messages

Good to know

  • Nothing is automatic
  • Not tested by us beyond the connection
Set up Windsurf

JetBrains

Connected

For JetBrains AI Assistant, from its settings.

What works

  • The same tools as Cursor: memory, notes, history, guarded edits, messages

Good to know

  • Nothing is automatic
  • Not tested by us beyond the connection
Set up JetBrains

Zed

Connected

One entry in Zed's settings.

What works

  • The same tools as Cursor: memory, notes, history, guarded edits, messages

Good to know

  • Nothing is automatic
  • Not tested by us beyond the connection
Set up Zed

Any other tool that supports MCP

Connected

MCP is the open standard many AI tools use to connect to apps. If yours supports it, it can use Codelux AI.

What works

  • Memory, notes, history, guarded edits and messages between agents

Good to know

  • Setup depends on the tool
  • Not tested by us

Mixing tools

Several AI tools on one project

The memory belongs to the project, not to one tool: what Claude Code saved in the morning, Codex or Cursor can read in the afternoon. Codelux AI also keeps a short, stable section in your project's AGENTS.md (and CLAUDE.md if you have one) for tools that read those files; the rest of the file is never touched.

Tokens and the cache

Each provider caches your conversation differently. How each one works, and what we do about it.

Your AI, your provider

Every tool keeps talking to its own provider. Nothing of those conversations passes through us. Privacy.
